Last week was our first official week of our summer {home}school.
And can I tell you a secret…….I’m LOVING it!

I love that it is keeping me focused. That we have things to look forward to. And that I get to spend wonderful time with all THREE of my kiddos! (man I miss my boy during the school year!)

The highlight of our week {of course} was our royal picnic in the park.
You guys really need to do this. It was crazy fun and the kids are still talking about it 🙂
The day before we went to the dollar store to gather supplies and then spent some time making crowns and wands for everyone.

There are certain recipes that have always intimidated me. Homemade breads & pies were at the top of that list. But coming up close behind was apple crisp.
I know. I know. Ridiculous. Because apple crisp is probably one of the easiest desserts you can make.
I guess I was afraid because I can remember my mom making it ALL the time, and it always being the hit of the party. I suppose living up to that intimidated me.

Last week it rained. And rained. And then rained some more (and it’s STILL raining, by the way. Ugh. Anyways…)
The girls and I were getting pretty bored, so we grabbed a cookbook and decided to try out a new recipe.
(loved doing that! so fun!)
We chose Company’s Coming- Cookies and settled on “Chocolate Softies.”

– Well friends, I have FINALLY finished filling in all the information in my menu bar. Whew. That was crazy time consuming but also kinda fun! I hope it’s helpful 🙂

– I am now officially a knitter 🙂 Yippee! My sweet friend patiently gave me my first lesson a little while ago and I have to say, I am really enjoying it! (especially since it’s been “Stanley Cup” season) I love that I can sit with Chris while he’s watching and can busily knit away. Fun. Fun.
