Boy, do I remember this day from last year. My three little helpers were so excited!

This morning we started our Christmas Cookie Countdown with a fairly common (but super yummy) cookie.

I had hoped to start off with a much fancier recipe but my pantry is looking pretty sad these days. I really need to get to the grocery store for some baking supplies. That was the plan for this morning, but the blizzard that blew in yesterday kinda made me want to just hibernate inside today with the girls.

Last year we started a new tradition in our home.
A tradition that I am so excited to continue.
We set out to bake something everyday in the month of December.
Our first ever Christmas Cookie Countdown.
Some people though we were a little crazy.
And to be honest, there were a few days when I felt like maybe we were too.
Lots of patience was required.
{especially for all those dishes!}
But we pressed on and in the end it was worth it all.

1. Meet Fidget:  We have been looking after him this week while my parents-in-love have been in Mexico. Isn’t he the cutest thing EVER?! He is the best little guy & so awesome with our kids. I {almost} want to keep him. Almost. If it weren’t for my girls (mostly our three year old) constantly bugging him, I’m pretty sure I would refuse to return him.
