My baby started Grade TWO today.
(sniff sniff. STOP growing!)

This year, we celebrated by having a special “surprise! it’s your first day of school!” breakfast.
(totally stole this idea. thanks again Denise!!!)

We put up streamers, balloons and set the table with a party tablecloth.
So fun.
I made his favorite- waffles with whipped cream and strawberries. Mmmmm.
The kids were all thrilled when they came downstairs in the morning. They don’t normally get sugar for breakfast. I’m mean that way.
As the kids were eating, my three year old looked around confused and asked where all the birthday presents were?!
🙂
After breakfast we loaded in the van and drove to school. We dropped him off and watched as he happily joined his friends. And there were no tears. (quite the achievement for me, as lately these hormones have made me bawl like a crazy woman over the most random things. I thought for sure I’d lose it 🙂

I am just so excited for him…
to start a new year of learning.
to see his friendships flourish.
to watch how God will use him.
to witness his faith grow.

Sweet son, may your relationship with God grow more than you could imagine in this next year. May you embrace all that He has for you. I love you and am so proud of the boy you are!

After school, while driving home, my heart almost burst as I heard this from the backseat:
Little sister: I don’t want you to go to school anymore.
Big brother: I have to. I have to learn stuff.
Little sister: I don’t want you to learn anymore. You know enough.
🙂
