As parents, Chris and I have one ultimate goal: To teach our kids to know and love Jesus.

Our prayer for each of them is to have their own personal friendship with God. One that is real and exciting.

I am always looking for new and creative ways to help us on this journey and so when I stumbled upon Kristin’s blog and read this post I was so excited!!

The funny thing was as soon as I read it, I realized that we did this as a family when I was little too. Only, we had a prayer bowl and each night at supper we would choose a piece of paper from that bowl and pray for whatever was written on it.
I remember it being so fun and exciting to see what piece of paper I would get.
I have no idea why I hadn’t thought to do this with our kids yet, but could hardly wait to start this tradition with them!

So today, our big boy and I put together our own little prayer pail. We had so much fun making it together. He proudly thought up each prayer on his own and then wrote them all out.

I love how it turned out. It’s just SO cute! (Thanks Kristin!)

Tonight we used our Prayer Pail for the first time, and it was a HUGE success. Our little guy was so excited to explain it all to Daddy when he got home, and couldn’t wait to choose his stick.

Then after dinner we found a nice little home for it. I love that I can look at it every time I pass by the kitchen and I am reminded of the importance of including our kids as we walk out our faith….. and also making it fun for them!
