On Friday I wrote about the lovely surprise my one year old gave me.

I am happy to report that the stain is pretty well gone, well, except for now you can see a nice white spot, indicating just a hint of a stain. I like to call it our “mystery” stain. We know what it was but you’d never guess it by seeing it.

In my humble opinion a white “mystery” stain is much better than a dark purple nail polish stain.
Yes, that’s right Denise, unfortunately for me it wasn’t a sassy hot pink 🙂
(but your comment made me totally laugh out loud!)
Sadly, it was a super dark purple that I had gotten free in a gift bag…it was awful to get out. Awful.
So what did the trick??

After consulting my trusted friend google I used a mix of baking soda with water, nail polish remover (I know- crazy, but it totally worked!) carpet cleaner (which I think is the culprit of the nice white stain left on my carpet) and about an HOURS worth of elbow grease 🙂
Next time I think I’ll skip the carpet cleaner…on second thought, hopefully there won’t be a next time!

So there you have it. I am living proof that nail polish will come out of the carpet.

And yes, there is now a lock on our bathroom cabinets.
